Mouscron suffer home defeat in Belgian league

Excelsior Mouscron missed the opportunity to re-join Standard Liege at the top of the Belgian Eerste Klasse, losing 1-2 to KRC Genk on Sunday.

Mouscron did have a good start as Van Dooren but the home side in the lead after fifteen minutes.

But Barda levelled in the 69th minute and Joao Carlos even earned Genk a victory seven minutes later.

And things got worse for Mouscron, as Custovic conceded a second yellow card in the 84th minute after having received his first just before half time.

Consequently, Mouscron stay in shared second place with RSC Anderlecht, who lost to leaders Standard Liege on Friday.
