Neymar favours Juventus move; Arsenal target rules out January transfer

Neymar favours Juventus move

Santos forward Neymar has hinted that he could be moving clubs in January by saying that he favoured a move to Juventus.

The 18-year-old striker was close to joining Chelsea last summer, but he seems to have changed his mind and now wants to sign for Juventus.

“The directors of my club told the entire world that Neymar is not for sale. But I am not thinking the same way. This could be the right time for a European adventure,” Neymar said.

“Which proposal do I favour? The one from Juventus. I have no problem in saying that I would most like to put on the black and white jersey.

“Inter have prestige and it is the team where Ronaldo, one of my idols, played, but I hope no-one is offended as my first choice is Juventus.”

The player has shown on numerous occasions that he is not afraid to speak his mind and this statement could tempt Juventus into making a bid for one of the most sought-after players in football today.

Chelsea and Arsenal target rules out January transfer

Both Chelsea and Arsenal have been dealt with a major blow in their pursuit of Serbia international Neven Subotic after his agent denied the player will be leaving Germany in January.

The Premiership title contenders were expected to step up their interest in the Borussia Dortmund defender after being hit by severe injury crisis, but it seems they will have to look elsewhere.

Subotic’s agent, Steve Kelly says his client will not be moving clubs, at least for the time being.

“I am aware of the latest rumours linking Neven with a move to England, but I can categorically rule out him leaving Dortmund in January,” Kelly said.

“Neven is happy at Dortmund and he is focused on helping them to stay at the top of the Bundesliga.”

While enjoying a big success with Borussia in Bundesliga, Subotic has failed to prove his potential at international level, showing that he is still not ready for the biggest stage, so this could be a blessing in disguise for the English giants.

Juve to make an offer for Maxi Lopez

Juventus are lining up a January move for Catania striker Maxi Lopez as they look to add more quality to their attacking line.

The club’s sporting director Beppe Marotta is keen on adding another striker to the squad after Vincenzo Iaquinta and Amauri failed to make their presence known at Olimpico.

Juventus were hoping to bring either Diego Forlan or Edin Dzeko in January, but it seems they will have to make do with the cheaper option that is Maxi Lopez.

The reports from Italy suggest Juve scouts have already watched the former Barca forward and the Bianconeri are now ready to make an official bid.

Juventus officials have built a good rapport with Catania president Pietro Lo Monaco when signing Jorge Martinez last summer and they hope there will be no obstacles to this deal.

The fact that Maxi Lopez holds an Italian passport only adds to his appeal.
