Odemwinge in line for Stoke debut after completing move from Cardiff

The Mail Online understands that Peter Odemwinge could make his Stoke City debut at Sunderland tomorrow after completing his switch from Cardiff City in a deal which has seen fellow striker Kenwyne Jones move in the opposite direction.

Odemwinge, who has also played in his native Nigeria, Belgium, France and Russia, only signed for Cardiff City on the final day of the summer transfer window, going on to make seventeen appearances for the club, scoring just twice having spent three years at West Bromwich Albion.

The Nigeria international, who famously tried to force through a move to Queens Park Rangers during his time at the Hawthorns, turned out eighty-nine times in all competitions for the Baggies, scoring thirty-one goals.

The 32 year old hasn’t played for his country for over three-and-half years, and had a bust up with national coach Stephen Keshi prior to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
