Palace sign Lokilo from Anderlecht

Crystal Palace F.C. have completed the signing of Belgian winger Jason Lokilo from Jupiler Pro League side R.S.C. Anderlecht.

Crystal Palace F.C. have completed the signing of Belgian winger Jason Lokilo from Jupiler Pro League side R.S.C. Anderlecht.

Lokilo, who has been training with the Eagles’ reserves and under-18s since the summer, has been given international clearance to move to Selhurst Park.

“I’m very happy to have signed with Crystal Palace,” Lokilo told the club’s website.

“It’s a good club making progress. They bought Yohan Cabaye, who is a very good player. And with Yannick Bolasie, Wilfried Zaha and Jason Puncheon, it’s very good for wingers.

“I’ve trained very well and I’m looking to continue that.”

The 17-year-old Belgian added: “I’m a right winger, but I can play anywhere. I like to pass the ball and get assists. I’m left-footed, so I like to cut inside to create chances to score.

“I used to watch interviews with Cristiano Ronaldo, I’m a big fan. I hope to work on my English, to play with the under-21s and maybe sometimes the under-18s, let’s see!”

Hoyte joins Dagenham

Former Arsenal and Middlesbrough defender Justin Hoyte has joined Sky Bet League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge F.C.

Hoyte, who spent time on trial at League One side Burton Albion earlier this month, joins on a free transfer, having left Millwall at the end of the last season.

“Justin Hoyte has been training with us for three weeks now and he’s a player with vast experience, has played at the top level and will bring something to our group for sure,” Dagenham manager Wayne Burnett told the club’s official website.

“All credit to him because he’s a great person and he wants to continue to succeed.”

Hoyte, 30, made just three appearances for Millwall last season.

Blues looking at Amelia

Chelsea F.C. have handed a trial to free agent goalkeeper Marco Amelia, according to Sky sources.

With first-choice goalkeeper Thibault Courtois out until December, Amelia could be signed as a back up to current No. 1 Asmir Begovic.

Reports had suggested that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was interested in Porto’s shot-stopper Helton. But the Portuguese was quick to play down such reports.

“Helton has a contract with Porto and would only be available in January,” Mourinho said. “We need a goalkeeper now, not in January when Courtois will be available.”

Amelia, formerly of AC Milan, last competitive appearance came (for Milan) in a 2-1 defeat to Atalanta at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia on 11 May 2014.
