Ronaldo saga is over says Sir Alex

According to an exclusive report on Skysports.com, Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo will be at Manchester United this season.

“The matter is closed now,” Ferguson told Sky Sports News. “He is a Manchester United player, it’s finished.” “He is going to play here believe me.”

Ferguson sought to bring a close to what was arguably the summer’s biggest transfer saga, as Real Madrid relentlessly pursued the Portugese midfielder. During this time nearly every soccer personality had an input into this matter as players from the likes of Eric Cantona to David Beckham and even FIFA president Sepp Blatter had voiced their opinions.

It also seemed that Madrid had finally grown impatient and instead signed Rafael van der Vaart, formally introduced today as ‘probably their last signing of the summer’.

For now this all seems to put an end to the matter but many suspect that Ronaldo will join Madrid next season.
