Valencia CF striker Fernando Morientes is a major doubt for Sunday’s Primera División game against CA Osasuna after being taken to hospital with acute stomach pains.
The 32-year-old missed the first training session under new coach Salvador ‘Voro’ González on Tuesday and has remained in hospital to undergo tests. “Until we learn the origin of the pain we won’t know how long he’ll be hospitalised for,” said club doctor Antonio Giner.
