Swift extends Brentford stay

Brentford have extend midfielder John Swift’s loan spell from Chelsea by a further month, according to Sky Sports.

The twenty year old moved to Griffin Park last month and has so far made five appearances for the Championship club, scoring his first goal for them with the opener in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Charlton Athletic.

Prior to his move to Brentford, Swift had enjoyed temporary spells at Swindon Town and Rotherham United while his one and only appearance for his parent club coming as a late substitute in the final game of the 2013/14 Premier League campaign – a 2-1 win at Cardiff City.

He was part of the Chelsea squad that won the FA Youth Cup in 2012 and the U21 Premier League two years later while internationally he has represented England at every level from U16 to U20, winning a total of nine caps for the latter scoring one goal.
