Watford contemplate Fulham’s Bryan

Watford are considering a swoop for Fulham’s Joe Bryan this month, according to Sky Sports.

The Hornets are currently going through a difficult spell in terms of fitness, especially on the defensive flanks with both Kiko Fermenia and Daryl Jaanmat out of action at the moment. Jose Holebas has also had issues this term, most recently with an ankle issue.

It seems Watford see a possible solution in bringing in Bryan to bolster manager Nigel Pearson’s fullback options, having frequently sent scouts to watch his performances for the Cottagers recently. The 26-year-old arrived to Fulham in the summer of 2018 for £6 million and has so far made 27 appearances on the left side of their defence so far this season. His first goal for the club came in September last year, in a 2-0 win over Wigan as he opened the scoring shortly after the break, before captain Tom Cairney set the final score seven minutes from time.
