Barcelona head coach Pere Romeu confirmed Aitana Bonmati will return from injury for their Women’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich.
Bonmati has been sidelined since November after breaking a bone in her leg while on international duty with Spain.
Prior to the injury, the 28-year-old scored six goals and provided three assists in 11 league games for Barca, while she also helped them finish top of the league phase in Europe’s premier competition.
Bonmati, who has won three Ballon d’Ors, returned to first-team training earlier this month but is yet to make her return from injury.
With their semi-final tie against Bayern level at 1-1 after the first leg, Barca will receive a huge boost as Bonmati prepares to make her comeback.
“She will be available,” Barca boss Romeu told TV3. “We will see how the remaining two sessions go before the Bayern game, but she has already completed several sessions.

“[On Wednesday] we had a good session using big spaces, and she came through it without any problems. She will be available on Sunday.”
Barcelona have won each of their three home games against Bayern in the Champions League by an aggregate score of 11-1, winning 7-1 at Estadi Johan Cruyff in this season’s league phase.
Barcelona have won 32 of their last 34 home matches in the competition (D1 L1), including the last nine in a row by an aggregate score of 48-4.
