Juventus moved up to fourth place in Serie A following a 2-0 victory over AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium.

Second-half goals from Samuel Mbangula and Timothy Weah got the Bianconeri back to winning ways following a run of four matches across all competitions without victory.

Thiago Motta’s side went closest to scoring during the first period. Federico Gatti headed a glorious opportunity wide from close range, while Mike Maignan thwarted Kenan Yildiz.

Maignan also came to Milan’s rescue in the 54th minute with a superb double-save to deny Weah and Teun Koopmeiners.

However, the Rossoneri goalkeeper was helpless as Juve broke through just before the hour mark, when he could only help Mbangula’s curling effort in off the crossbar.

Substitute Weah then secured the victory in the 64th minute, racing away from Fikayo Tomori before beating Maignan at his far post to condemn Milan to their first defeat under Sergio Conceicao.

Data Debrief: Bianconeri claim historic clean sheet

Juventus have now kept four consecutive clean sheets against Milan in Serie A for the first time in their history, while beating them at home for the first time since November 2019.

Weah put the contest beyond the Rossoneri with his fifth league goal of the season, becoming the third American to score at least five times in a Serie A campaign after Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic.

As for Milan, they failed to score for only the second time in their last 30 Serie A away games, with both instances coming against Juventus.
