Leonardo Balerdi nearing Borussia Dortmund move

Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund appear to be closing in on Boca Juniors central defender Leonardo Balerdi.

The 19-year-old defensive hotshot has been hitting the headlines recently despite only playing five league games for the Argentine powerhouse and BVB seem determined to bring him to Germany.

Borussia Dortmund are on the lookout for injured Manuel Akanji and have identified Balerdi as the ideal replacement and long-term investment.

The German giants have already had an offer rejected but have reportedly sent an improved bid worth €15 million. According to the latest reports coming from Germany, the negotiations have entered their final stages and the player is left to decide whether to move to Germany on his own.

Balerdi is said to be relishing a chance to move to Europe and is expected to sign a contract with Borussia Dortmund as he returns from international duty with Argentina Under-20s.
