Manchester City are interested in signing Jeremie Frimpong, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that City, who won the Premier League title last season, are looking for a replacement for Kyle Walker, and that the Citizens have identified Bayer Leverkusen right-back Frimpong as a potential target.
Frimpong has been on the books of Bayer since January 2021 when he joined from Celtic. The Netherlands international, who can also operate as a right winger, has established himself as one of the better players in his position in the German top flight. The 23-year-old has scored two goals and given two assists in 10 starts and two substitute appearances in the Bundesliga and has provided two assists in four starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League.
City are not having the best of times at the moment. Pep Guardiola’s side, who are keen on Viktor Gyokeres, are fifth in the Premier League table with 23 points from 13 matches, 11 points behind leaders Liverpool.
