Romania 8/11 to beat the Faroe Islands to nil in Saturday’s EURO 2020 qualifier

Competition: EURO 2020 qualifiers

Market: Romania win to nil

Odds: 8/11 @ Bet 365

Handed the chance to potentially leapfrog Sweden, Romania will make the trip to Group H whipping boys the Faroe Islands on Saturday evening.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of an expected 4-0 hammering away at Group H leaders Spain last month, the Faroe Islands have continued on a qualifying campaign to forget. Losing each of their six matchups, including back-to-back 4-0 defeats against the former champions and Sweden on home soil, Lars Olsen’s men have not recorded a single victory across any format since a 3-1 win over Malta back in September. Now branded as the whipping boys in Group H, it has been their issues in the final third most upsetting fans around Streymoy. Failing to find the net in any of their last three appearances, Saturday could prove to be yet another long evenings work for the hosts.

As for the visitors, picking up a 1-0 win over Malta last month, Romania still have an automatic spot out of Group H firmly in their sights. Sat just a single point adrift of the Swedes, their 2-1 defeat against Spain is just their only defeat since their opening appearance. It will undoubtedly be their form on the road most impressing Head Coach Cosmin Contra. The Tricolours have remarkably lost just a single matchup outside of Bucureşti since September 2017. Putting four past the Faroe Islands the last time the two sides met back in March, Romania should be confident of coming away with another routine victory this weekend.
