April 9th: Tuesday’s Champions League Double – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With the Champions League quarter-finals getting underway on Tuesday night, we have a pair of iconic showdowns on the cards.

On the same night that Arsenal welcome German giants Bayern Munich to north London, Manchester City travel to the Spanish capital when they meet Real Madrid.

Ahead of what looks set to be a pulsating night of Champions League action, we have found a couple of intriguing European betting markets.

20:00 Real Madrid vs Manchester City

Although Manchester City might have a real battle on their hands in the race to claim four consecutive Premier League crowns, Pep Guardiola’s men are in the midst of a real purple patch. Making real history last season as they finally got their hands on a maiden European title, Tuesday’s guests are tipped as a standout contender to defend their Champions League trophy this time around.

Although the Sky Blues might be more than aware that they face a heavyweight challenge over the next fortnight, City are unbeaten in all of their previous 25 appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to December 6th.

Picking up some perfect momentum over the weekend as they eventually claimed a 4-2 victory away at Crystal Palace, City have found a real clinical edge over the past few days.

Making a real statement last week as they secured an eye-catching 4-1 romp against Champions League chasers Aston Villa, Guardiola’s men have also scored 46 goals across all competitions since opening the New Year.

Although Real Madrid might have eventually finished 10 points adrift of defending their La Liga crown last season, Los Blancos are certainly firing on all cylinders this time around.

Holding an eight-point buffer over the chasing pack this time around, the Spanish icons also find themselves pencilled in as one of the standout contenders to claim a 15th European title in June.

Heading into March’s international break with an action-packed 4-2 victory away at Osasuna, Carlo Ancelotti’s men have won all of their previous three appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 10-2.

With five of the previous six Champions League meetings between the two European icons finishing with both teams finding the net, neutrals could be treated to another famous affair from the Bernabeu.

20:00 Arsenal vs Bayern Munich

Making another domestic statement over the weekend as they stormed their way to a stunning 3-0 romp away at Brighton, Arsenal have continued on a remarkable purple patch since opening up the New Year. Although Mikel Arteta’s young squad might have edged their way past Porto last month following a nail-biting penalties victory in north London, the Gunners will be smelling the chance to make a heavyweight statement here.

Leading the chase at the top of the Premier League table and gaining a fearsome reputation for their clinical performances in the final third, Arsenal have also collected 31 points from just their last 11 top-flight appearances.

With their sights now firmly set on mounting a genuine Champions League charge this season, Arteta’s side will also be excited by their extended success on home soil.

Including a stellar 3-1 romp against title rivals Liverpool on February 4th, Arsenal have won all of their previous six showdowns in north London by an aggregate score of 17-3.

On the flip side, suffering what was an infamous collapse away at Heidenheim over the weekend as they slumped to a woeful 3-2 defeat, it is no secret that Bayern Munich are at the heart of a public crisis.

With it already confirmed that Thomas Tuchel will be leaving the Allianz at the end of the season, the former Chelsea boss has come under a huge amount of scrutiny and could be set for an even earlier exit from Munich.

Marking their return from March’s international break with a 2-0 loss at home against historic rivals Borussia Dortmund, Tuesday’s guests have also continued to show some glaring defensive issues this year.

Likewise, recording just a single victory from any of their previous six appearances away from the Allianz, a struggling Bayern Munich certainly couldn’t have asked for a tougher examination here.
